Originally, armoires housed weapons and tools.
Consider armoires when you need additional storage in your home.
Most areas in your home will house an armoire. The following
are uses for an armoire:
• Kitchen storage – whether you want to store plates,
cups and bowls or non-perishable food, an armoire is an excellent
option for kitchen storage. Many new homes today skimp on storage
in terms of cupboards, shelving or large pantries. This portable
shelving unit with doors that close houses all sorts of kitchen
goods.
• Living areas – armoires serve as excellent home
entertainment centers. It is a good idea to be sure to purchase
one that is either intended for that purpose, or one that easily
adapts and adjust to hold a television, DVD player, console
gaming systems, stereo components and the other entertainment
devices you may use. One of the most important things to consider
for your entertainment armoire is that the back will allow cords
to pass through; either through pre-drilled holes, a removable
back or alterations you make yourself. Another useful thing
to consider is size. Make sure the armoire you choose is big
enough for your TV and other equipment.
• Bedroom – an armoire can house clothing when closet
space is limited or non-existent. In many countries, a wardrobe
or armoire regularly serves to contain clothing. These furniture
items are almost exclusively made of wood and can be used to
hold folded blankets, clothing or other items. In the bedroom,
armoires often utilize a rod for hanging clothes on and shelves
or drawers in which to store clothing.
Armoires have come a long way since they first held tools and
guns. These incredibly useful pieces of furniture double as
beautiful wood pieces that contain clutter, clothing or equipment.
